Job Details

The Web Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing the FedExForum.com, Memphis G League Team and the Memphis NBA 2K eLeague web properties to help meet overall business objectives.

 

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Web Development

  • Manage day-to-day aspects of FedExForum, the Memphis G League team and Memphis eLeague team web properties.
  • Responsibilities include layout, new section development, content updates (pre and post-game, special features, event updates, photo galleries, press releases), and multimedia encoding/management.
  • Hand code site pages with HTML and CSS.
  • Ensure that content layout is mobile responsive and user-friendly.
  • Create clean and valid code for modularity and reusability.
  • Provide quality assurance checks to ensure code, functionality and content is correctly rendering in production.
  • Build and update website functionality and features as required.
  • Act as team web liaison with NBA G League digital services and NBA eLeague digital services.
  • Obtains work assignments from Sr. Web Developer, which may also include development tasks on Grizzlies.com.

General

  • Work closely with all counterparts within the Grizzlies organization, including but not limited to:  Brand, Content Marketing & Broadcast, Ticket Sales & Service, Partnership Marketing and Arena Operations, and others to ensure proper execution of all FedExForum, G League, and eLeague elements, programs and initiatives.
  • Pre- and post-game and event duties will require the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Other related duties as required.

Required Skills, Experience & Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in web design or related field.
  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience in Web Development.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated use of HTML, HTML5 and CSS is required. Must be able to hand code.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with mobile-first and responsive design cross-platform testing (IE, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, etc.).
  • Flexibility in handling a variety of assignments with changing priorities and parameters.
  • Strong typesetting and page layout skills.
  • Strong grammatical, spelling, proofreading, and writing abilities.
  • Comfort in working with content management systems on a PC Platform. Wordpress. Experience with Drupal is a plus.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Independent, creative problem-solver and thinker.
  • Highly organized and responsible with good time and project management abilities.
  • A team player and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required.

 Preferred:

  • Knowledge and passion for NBA basketball.
  • Experience with JQuery/JavaScript.
  • Experience with Drupal CMS.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX best practices.
