Job Details

The Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club is looking for a Digital Designer to support our website and retail team. You will report directly to our Sr. Director of Merchandising to conceptualize and design content for our e-commerce business and Hawks Shop retail stores. The Digital Designer must be able to work successfully within a team setting that includes collaboration with outside vendors as well as internal team members in Marketing, Ecommerce, CRM, and Creative Services.


  • Design site assets (landing pages and hero images) and creative that meets business and customer needs.
  • Design monthly/seasonal content pages based on creative briefs and design direction from the Sr. Director of Merchandising and Creative Director.
  • Design comps for new site functionality - coming up with creative solutions that work within the brand style guide and User Interface Schematics.
  • Manage the design and updates of the website.
  • Collaborate with the Art Director and Brand Design team on the design of emails, newsletters, and web marketing collateral.
  • Work with creative leadership and team members to deliver digital solutions that meet business objectives and brand standards
  • Demonstrate an eagerness to learn, be a team player, share information and provide a fresh perspective.
  • Research and stay current with trends in fashion, retail, and social media.
  • Work with Marketing Team and Creative Brand team to coordinate efforts for major campaign pushes.
  • Conceptualize and offer creative solutions for innovating, improving and optimizing various areas on the site.
  • Special projects and initiatives as needed.



  • Oversees the merchandising of all product categories on the website and maintain retail merchandising excellence by guaranteeing all current styles are on display.
  • Update graphics and promotions on a weekly basis to maximize sales.
  • Works with the Sr. Director of Merchandising and Retail Manager to help coordinate and execute marketing initiatives to drive category growth and incremental revenue.
  • Develops and maintains a master calendar of seasonal promotions and coordinates the details of the program within the organization.
  • Collaborates with Marketing and Creative Services teams to create graphics for website, social media advertisement, and e-mail campaigns.
  • Research the market for innovative trends within the fashion & entertainment industries.
  • Quality control product assortment on both staging and live sites and across all devices.
  • Work with Merchandising team to solve customer service inquiries related to products.


  • College degree; BA or BFA preferred
  • 2-5 years of design experience in digital design, focusing on mobile and desktop
  • Possess a thorough understanding of content strategy and the user experience.
  • Ability to work in a very fast paced environment and meet very tight deadlines.
  • Expected to function independently and collaboratively, bringing fresh thinking, an open mind and a strong work ethic to the team environment.
  • Must demonstrate a sophisticated level of craft and inventiveness throughout work, from simple projects to the more complex, and across multiple disciplines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • An exceptional portfolio showcasing innovative concepts and creative digital design solutions
  • Strong knowledge of and proficient in: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, HTML/CSS, and Google Web Designer
  • Great organizational, communication and time management skills required.
  • Must be proactive, a self-starter with proven initiative in relevant past experiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point). Familiarity with Basecamp is a plus.
